The VISION for the School-to-Work Program in Western Sydney provides a platform for:
the study of work across all key learning areas
the development of community and school-industry partnerships

WOW- Worlds of Work
WOW is being piloted in Western Sydney in late November. At this stage it is proposed that Region will host 3-4 regional WOW programs in 2012 in different sites.The power point can be used to give an overview of the WOW program to school staff; NSW WOW pilot June 24.pptx. Please remember that WOW is licensed to the Foundation for Young Australians and as such is facilitated by FYA staff members. Below is the most recent youtube video from 'Shift Happens'. It has been designed for Iowa in USA however the beginning of the clip is a good discussion starter if you are contemplating technology and STW in 2012. The second half of the clip is specific to the school system in Iowa however some interesting universal questions are raised.

Since 2006 Region has submitted a Regional report on School-to-Work based on your amalgamated school reports. Please find the pdf versions of these reports below.

Below are the portfolios that support the development in schools of STW projects that address the Office of Schools Priorities and the Key Result Areas of the NSW State program. Please be aware that many of these documents are 'old' but they may still provide a sound basis from which to begin.
The Hunter / Central Coast Region has released their eAssessment website. This is a great resource with assessment rubrics for a wide range of digital medias that you may be using with your students- the rubrics are not KLA or Framework specific. They will serve as an excellent starting point in the development of assessment packages for VET, but perhaps even more valuable is that they can be used in your KLA teaching and learning as well.
